This patient went to an accomplished Rhinoplasty surgeon for her revision. Unfortunately, this Doctor said her nose was maxed out, and there was nothing to be done to make her nose smaller. She sought out a second opinion from Dr. Shah, and he felt comfortable that he could make her nose smaller and more aesthetically pleasing.
This patient felt like her front view was overpowering her facial features. She wanted a natural change, but didn’t want her nose to overpower everything. She also had a septoplasty in the past, but she still had a subtle deviation that was significantly more deviated internally.
Even though she was told by the first doctor that any potential procedure would be an eight hour operation with rib cartilage, Dr. Shah was able to accomplish the operation in only four hours using existing cartilage from her nose, making for a predictable, easy recovery. The patient was thrilled with her results, even while still swollen at one week, as she knew the results she wanted for her nose were there.
